None of them. No 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available with a V8.
Jeep dropped the 5.7L HEMI V8 from the two-row Grand Cherokee after 2022 and from the three-row Grand Cherokee L during 2024. The 2026 lineup runs a 3.6L Pentastar V6 and a 2.0L Hurricane Turbo I4 that makes 324 horsepower. Here is exactly which model years had the V8, and what to drive instead.
The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee Engine Lineup

Which Grand Cherokee Model Years Had a V8?
The answer splits by body style, because Jeep retired the HEMI from the two-row and the three-row at different times.
| Model Year | Grand Cherokee (2-row) | Grand Cherokee L (3-row) | Trims That Offered It |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | Previous WK2 generation | Yes | Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve |
| 2022 | Yes | Yes | Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve |
| 2023 | No | Yes | Overland, Summit, Summit Reserve (L only) |
| 2024 | No | Phased out mid-year | Early build L models only |
| 2025 | No | No | None |
| 2026 | No | No | None |
V8 availability confirmed against reporting from The Drive and Autoblog. Build dates vary, so check the window sticker on any used HEMI-era Grand Cherokee.
What about the SRT and the Trackhawk?
Both are gone, and they left earlier than the HEMI did. The 6.4L SRT and the supercharged 6.2L Trackhawk were last sold for 2021 on the previous WK2 Grand Cherokee. Neither carried over to the current generation. Jeep has hinted at bringing a V8 back, but nothing is confirmed for 2026 or 2027, so treat any rumor you read as exactly that.
What Replaced the V8, and Does It Hold Up?
The 2.0L Hurricane Turbo I4 does the work now, and the numbers are closer than the cylinder count suggests. It makes 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, with peak torque arriving around 3,000 rpm. That is more horsepower than the 3.6L V6 it replaced on mid and upper trims, and the torque comes in low enough that the Grand Cherokee still feels strong pulling out onto N Marine Blvd.
What you give up is towing headroom and the sound. A 2026 Grand Cherokee tows up to 6,200 lbs when properly equipped, which covers most center consoles headed for the Swansboro and New River ramps but sits below what the HEMI trims managed. What you gain is fuel economy. The Hurricane is rated around 21 city and 30 highway, against roughly 19 and 26 for the V6, which adds up fast on a daily run in from Richlands or Hubert.
If the towing number is the sticking point, say so when you call. A Dodge Durango or a RAM 1500 will out-tow any current Grand Cherokee, and we would rather point you at the right vehicle than sell you the wrong one. Our Durango towing capacity guide lays out the figures by engine and trim.

Still want a V8 Grand Cherokee?
Then you are shopping used, and Jacksonville is a reasonable place to do it. Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River move families in and out constantly, so HEMI-era Grand Cherokees come through the trade lane here more often than they do in a town without a base. Stock turns over weekly, so check our current used inventory or call and we will tell you what is actually on the ground that day.
Grand Cherokee V8 Questions From Jacksonville Buyers
Which Jeep Grand Cherokee has a V8?
No 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a V8. Jeep dropped the 5.7L HEMI V8 from the two-row Grand Cherokee after the 2022 model year and from the three-row Grand Cherokee L during the 2024 model year. For 2026 the lineup runs a 3.6L Pentastar V6 and a 2.0L Hurricane Turbo I4. If you want a V8 Grand Cherokee, you are shopping used.
What was the last Grand Cherokee with a HEMI V8?
The two-row Grand Cherokee offered the 5.7L HEMI V8 for 2022, the first year of the current WL generation, and lost it for 2023. The three-row Grand Cherokee L kept the 5.7L HEMI on Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve until it was phased out partway through the 2024 model year.
What replaced the V8 in the Grand Cherokee?
The 2.0L Hurricane Turbo I4 replaced it on most trims. It makes 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, and it is the first four-cylinder ever offered in a Grand Cherokee. The 3.6L Pentastar V6 continues on Laredo and Laredo X, making 293 horsepower.
Is the Grand Cherokee SRT or Trackhawk still available?
No. The SRT and the supercharged Trackhawk were last sold for the 2021 model year on the previous WK2 generation. Neither returned on the current WL Grand Cherokee, and neither is in the 2026 lineup. Jeep has hinted at a future V8 but has confirmed nothing.
How much can a 2026 Grand Cherokee tow without the V8?
Up to 6,200 lbs when properly equipped. That is enough for most boats headed to the New River and Swansboro ramps, but it is below what the old HEMI trims managed. If you tow heavier than that regularly, look at a RAM 1500 or a Dodge Durango instead and we will walk you through the numbers.
Can I find a used V8 Grand Cherokee near Jacksonville, NC?
Often, yes. Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River turn over vehicles constantly as families PCS in and out, so HEMI-era Grand Cherokees reach our used lot regularly. Stock changes weekly, so call us at (910) 347-3777 and we will tell you what is on the ground today.

What Jacksonville Drivers Say
Drive the Hurricane Before You Judge It
324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft is not a downgrade you feel from the driver's seat. Ten minutes on NC-24 will tell you more than any spec sheet.
