The Dodge commitment to EV, and our future:
Dodge parent company Stellantis has made their commitment to electric vehicles (EVs) clear: Stellantis has set the target of 50 percent of their sales of passenger cars and light duty trucks to battery electric vehicles by the end of 2030. And already Stellantis EVs are market leaders across North America and Europe.
To accomplish their EV goals, Stellantis is investing more than $30 Billion through 2025 to develop electrification and software development to support those vehicles in our brand families.
The Dodge family of vehicles is proud to be a part of that initiative. Dodge has partnered with Samsung to build a sprawling EV battery plant in Kokomo Indiana- committing $2.5 billion to the endeavor.Â
At National Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram we're fully on board with Stellantis' commitment to EV sales and support.
Dodge EV and Hybrid vehicles at National DCJR in Jacksonville NC
Dodge is home to muscle cars, so when the brand turned their focus to the next generation of vehicles- EVs and Hybrids- they started with doing what they do best: Developing a fully electric version of the iconic Charger- the Charger Daytona SRT. The Daytona SRT is a fully electric muscle concept car that will be produced starting in 2024. Dodge unveiled the concept version of the Charger Daytona SRT at SEMA 2022 in Las Vegas, and KBB.com reported that Dodge shared performance details too: It could be offered in 9 configurations, including two 400-volt versions that are projected to deliver 456 hp and 590 hp. KBB reports that Dodge may offer a series of eStage upgrade packages that would be over-the-air downloads that would provide horsepower boosts.

While the world waits to see the EV Charger unveiled, Dodge is already offering drivers the brand's first EV- the 2023 Dodge Hornet GT hybrid- capable of 268 hp, with responsive and powerful performance. This compact utility vehicle is a multi-energy powertrain model and comes as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The Hornet's lithium-ion battery powers a 90kW electric motor and is paired with a 1.3 -liter turbo charge all-aluminum engine. And like its namesake, this Hornet flies fast: accelerating from 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds. According to TheDriven auto website, Dodge boasts that the Hornet GT Hybrid has the most power in the segment, and boasts segment-exclusive performance features, as well as the best standard tech in its class.
As Dodge moves forward with its commitment to more environmentally friendly vehicles, 2023 is `Last Call' for the traditional Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger lineup of vehicles. And they're going out with a bang, with seven special `last call' models available for 2023.  At National DCJR, we'd be happy to show you some these heritage versions available at our showroom at 2223 on N. Marine Blvd. in Jacksonville NC.
