The Recon is Jeep's 100% electric, 100% Jeep mid-size SUV, powered by innovative 4xe technology, and part of Jeep's efforts to get the next generation of drivers ready for zero emission freedom. Jeep says Recon is inspired by the Jeep Wrangler, and is the EV homage to the king of Jeep's portfolio of vehicles, adding modern electric technologies to the Recon and ushering in a new standard for off-road performance.

Recon will hit the streets in 2024, and is expected to be an EV gamechanger- offering authentic Jeep brand open-air freedom. Jeep chief engineer Ralph Gilles says Recon was designed to put a smile on your face, with impressive on road and off-road capabilities. You get totally removable doors and windows, available one-touch power-folding rooftop, and all the Jeep features you love with the benefits of EV performance and forward-thinking style. Gilles says the design team worked with Jeep engineers to deliver impressive approach, departure and brakeover angles, so thE Recon EV delivers the off-road performance you've come to expect from the Jeep brand.  Jeep is so confident in their EV offerings including the Recon, they say 4xe is the new 4x4.  Compared to the traditional 4x4, Jeep's 4xe increases on-demand torque for max traction and four-wheel drive performance, with a quieter ride so you get more immersion in the great outdoors.

MotorTrend® calls the 2024 Recon `the Jeepiest of them all', and that "of four electric Jeeps coming for 2024, this Wrangler-inspired, accessory-ready rig is the burliest."  MT reports that Jeep says to expect electric locking differentials, Selec-Terrain traction management functions, skid plates, tow hooks, beefy BFGoodrich® tires, illuminated seven-slot front grille, rubberized flooring and seating for five. Like its inspiration, you can field-strip Recon down with those removable doors,windows and retracting roof panel.

Since Recon is 100% electric, it's a fair question to ask about its battery range: Jeep hasn't released specifics yet but industry insiders expect it'll be at least 250 miles per full charge. CarandDriver.com® says they fully expect the 2024 Recon to have dual electric motors, providing the all-wheel drive. And you can assume as with other Jeep models there'll be a variety of trim packages, some offering different-sized batteries and motors which will impact engine performance and driving range.
