2023 Ram 1500 vs 2022 Ram 1500

The Ram 1500 has been an iconic pickup truck for years. It got a significant redesign in 2019, especially on the inside. So from that point on, its aesthetic evolution has been slow but steady. Ram knows what its customers want, and it knows how to deliver that year after year.
At National Dodge of Jacksonville, North Carolina, we're super excited to offer you both models of the Ram 1500. Here, we'll break down the similarities and differences between these two models, and hopefully help you choose between the two.
By the end of the article, if you still feel like you're not sure which one you're leaning toward, head on over to our dealership and take both of them for a test drive!
Without further adieu, here's our take on the two models:
Engine
Both these models are absolute beasts. They offer towing capacities of up to 12,750 lbs (when you pick a trim with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine). If you want even more power, you can supercharge both models to a 6.2L engine, which gives you a whopping 702hp. So, in terms of power and performance, not much to choose from between the 2022 and 2023 models.
Exterior
The biggest difference here is the introduction of the Limited Elite edition for the 2023 Ram 1500. It adds some features to the tailgate such as a tailgate-ajar warning, and some thoughtfully designed tools such as a bed extender and cargo divider, and a deployable bed step.
Besides that, the two models look identical-and that's not a bad thing. The Ram 1500 is still very much the rugged, sporty, badass pickup truck that you've come to know and love.
Interior
Another small addition to the 2023 version here. Expect an upgraded, better-looking, frameless 12-inch digital cluster behind the wheel that offers full-screen navigation and easy-to-read gauge indicators and information. And yes, while it's behind the wheel, it's perfectly within your line of sight and is convenient to track.
The 12-inch touchscreen panel remains unchanged across both models, and gives you easy access to music, entertainment, and navigation through its UConnect system.
So, which one should I go for?
There are a lot more features that come with the 2022 and 2023 Ram 1500 models, and we won't be able to go over all of them, but here's our quick take-depending on the trim you go for, the 2023 Ram 1500 offers some interesting upgrades, both in terms of interiors and tech. But considering the 2022 version is priced a little better, and if you're not too keen on the bigger digital cluster display, the 2022 Ram 1500 is a solid choice.
