2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee vs 2022 Grand Cherokee

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Vs 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been one of Jeep's most awarded vehicles ever since its introduction in 1992. To mark its 30 year anniversary, the 2022 model of the Grand Cherokee got a complete redesign to keep up with evolving design trends. But its performance has never wavered, and it has remained a steady fan favorite all through the years.

The 2023 version retains much of the 2022's aesthetic and performance. Because we've got both models here at National Dodge, we're uniquely qualified to give you a detailed breakdown on both versions.

And remember, if you still can't decide at the end of the article, come on over to National Dodge in Jacksonville, NC, and test drive them both!

Without further adieu, here's our take on the two models:

Engine

Both models come with automatic transmission and offer amazingly powerful V6 3.6L engines with 220hp. So, in terms of power and performance, there's nothing to separate these two. Your on-road or offroad needs will be more than taken care of by either version.

Exterior

Another aspect we'll call even. But that shouldn't surprise anyone. Why fix something that isn't broken? The Grand Cherokee looks bold, commanding and stylish despite the sheer brute strength it boasts of under the hood.

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to trims, with 6 variants to choose from. The only difference is that the Trailhawk version, available with the 2022 Grand Cherokee, is now only available with the electric version of the 2023 model.

Interior

The inside for both models is also identical, boasting of plenty of headspace and legroom. It is a midsize SUV, so the standard two-row interiors feature five-person seating.

But this is where things get exciting. You can now buy the Grand Cherokee L for both, the 2022 and 2023 models, which means you get an extra row for seating a couple more people.

Safety

Both models come with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, active braking and pedestrian / cyclist detection features. Front and rear parking assist features are a huge plus, and technologically, not particularly different from one model to another.

So, which one should I go for?

There are a lot more features that come with the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2022 and 2023 models, and we won't be able to go over all of them, but here's our quick take-the 2022 model was a significant overhaul from previous versions of the Grand Cherokee. So, if your decision is based on features alone, then go with the 2022 version.

However, what Jeep has done really well is made both models affordable and not very different price-wise. So, if you'd rather have the newest model, the 2023 version is a very safe bet.
